South Beach, Miami, Florida

The vibe: Nightlife hub, arts mecca, de facto capital of Latin America, Miami is all sexy, all the time.
Picture this: You already know about the zillion new hotels, condos, and glittering clubs that are transforming South Beach. But notice all those hard-bodies occupying them? They didn't get that way by accident. In a sense this is the healthiest city in America—there's no season when you can easily hide flab. Check out the endless cavalcade of runners, bladers, and skateboarders on the boardwalk along Miami Beach. Now that's a runway.
The crowd: Multilingual millionaires and the ladies that love them—all in various states of (fashionable) undress—with an occasional unsightly side of misbehaving minors and pasty tourists
The sundowner: Muchos Mojitos, what else? Take one in from the ultrahip rooftop Spire Bar & Lounge.
Come to bed: Miami is thick with five-star abodes, but the Ritz-Carlton, South Beach is home to the world's only Tanning Butler. He's fit, he's bare-chested, he's called Malcolm (cute, but shouldn't he be named Brad or Hunk?). This resident superhero of the suntan is armed with a holster of SPF, soothing balms, and bandages, ready to swoop down on your poolside sun bed as soon as you turn pink, sweetie. How did we cope before?
